I saw someone at the post office drop off a box marked Regional Rate, what are those?

Regional Rate Boxes are a nice hybrid between Flat Rate Boxes and Zone Rated Boxes (like your own box). There are some requirements and types of Regional Rate boxes. Let's start with…

Regional Rate A:

  • Maximum Weight: 15 pounds
  • Size A1: 10-1/8"(L) x 7-1/8"(W) x 4-3/4"(H)
  • Size A2: 11-1/16"(L) x 2-1/2"(W) x 13-1/16"(H)

Regional Rate B:

  • Maximum Weight: 20 pounds
  • Size B1: 12-1/4"(L) x 10-1/2"(W) x 5-1/2"(H)
  • Size B2: 14-1/2"(L) x 3"(W) x 16-1/4"(H)

Here are the Shipping Methods for Regional Rate Boxes: (you can click any item on the list to learn more about it)

Priority Mail

If your item fits in one of these boxes, and meets the weight requirement then you can use these boxes. Like we said earlier, this product is more like a hybrid of Flat Rate and Regional Rate. The postage price will change based on the zone you're shipping to, but will not change based on the weight (just don't go over the maximum).

These boxes are only for Commercial shippers. So don't forget to Sign Up in order to use them.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the Post Office gives these away for FREE. Check out their Store for FREE Supplies!
